Texture & Presence

Stone cladding that settles naturally into a space

Stone cladding introduces something that paint, plaster and timber simply can't replicate — the weight, depth and natural variation of real stone. Whether it's a large-format porcelain media wall in a contemporary living room, a granite fireplace surround in a period property, or an external façade treatment on a new build, the material brings something genuine and lasting to the space.

We supply and install stone cladding across Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland and County Durham. Every installation starts with a site visit, every panel is cut in our own workshop, and every fixing is installed with attention to level, alignment and long-term stability.

Porcelain media wall cladding — Traditional Masonry North East
Why Stone Cladding

Material qualities that work on walls as well as worktops

Genuine Character

Natural variation that can't be reproduced in paint or wallpaper.

UV Stable

Porcelain and granite hold their colour in direct sunlight — indoors or out.

Easy to Maintain

Wipe clean with warm water — no repainting, no re-plastering.

Frost & Weather Resistant

Granite and porcelain are fully suitable for external use in the North East climate.

Applications

Three popular stone cladding applications

Stone cladding works across a surprisingly wide range of contexts. These are the projects we take on most often.

Application 01

Media Walls & Feature Walls

Large-format porcelain panels create a clean, architectural media wall with near-seamless joints and a surface that simply needs wiping. We cut precisely around TV apertures, socket positions and integrated lighting elements. Equally effective as a hallway or living room feature wall where texture is wanted without the maintenance of natural stone.

Application 02

Fireplace Surrounds & Splashbacks

Stone fireplace surrounds, slips and back panels are among our most popular interior cladding applications. Marble brings quiet luxury to a traditional fireplace; granite gives weight and permanence; large-format porcelain suits the clean aesthetic of a contemporary gas or electric fire. Full-height kitchen splashbacks in stone or ceramic complete a kitchen surface treatment seamlessly.

Application 03

External Cladding & Facades

Granite and porcelain stand up to North East weather without treatment. We install external cladding for building facades, entrance features, outdoor kitchen surrounds and garden wall features. Fixing methods, substrate preparation and alignment are all assessed and planned before work starts — external cladding done properly is a long-term investment, and we treat it as one.

Installation Approach

Preparation and fixing done properly

Before any panel is placed, we assess the substrate — checking for level, stability and suitability for the fixing method. We confirm alignment lines, corner details and the direction of the panel pattern or grain. For external cladding, we confirm the fixing and sealing specification to ensure long-term weatherproofing.

This preparation stage is not rushed. Getting the layout right at the start means the cladding sits evenly, joints are consistent, and the finished surface feels considered and well proportioned. All work is carried out by our own fitting team — no subcontractors.

Common Questions

Stone cladding FAQs

What materials do you use for internal stone cladding?

For internal cladding we most commonly use large-format porcelain, granite and marble slab panels. Large-format porcelain gives a clean, grout-minimal surface ideal for media walls and kitchen splashbacks. Granite and marble introduce natural variation and depth for feature walls in living spaces and hallways.

Can stone cladding be used on an external wall?

Yes — granite and porcelain are both suitable for external cladding. They are frost-resistant and UV-stable, maintaining their appearance through the North East's variable weather. Fixing methods and surface preparation are critical for external work, and we assess each substrate carefully before confirming the installation approach.

How is a stone media wall or TV wall installed?

A stone media wall typically uses large-format porcelain or granite panels, cut precisely around the TV aperture, socket positions and any lighting elements. We template the wall carefully, cut panels in our workshop, and install to a consistent level and joint line. The result is a clean, architectural feature that becomes the focal point of the room.
