Choosing new kitchen worktops is a big decision, whether you’re renovating a home or managing a trade project. At Traditional Masonry Ltd, we’ve refined our process to make it simple, efficient and reliable from start to finish. With over 20 years of experience working with domestic and trade clients, we provide a full service from material selection to professional installation.
Here’s how our process works, and what you can expect at every stage.
1. Visit our showroom and choose your stone
Your journey begins at our showroom in North Shields, where you can explore a wide selection of granite, quartz, marble, slate and ceramic surfaces. We’ll walk you through the options and help you choose the best material for your kitchen, bathroom, or commercial project.
To provide an accurate quote, we recommend bringing along a kitchen plan or some rough dimensions. If you’re working on a smaller project, we also have a large stock of offcuts available.
2. Digital templating and design
Once you’ve chosen your material and approved the estimate, we’ll arrange a home visit to take digital measurements using specialist templating tools. This ensures a perfect fit and allows us to capture every detail, including sink cut-outs, tap positions, drainage grooves and your preferred edge profile.
We’ll then create a detailed drawing of your worktops and send it over for your approval before fabrication begins.
3. Expert fabrication by skilled stonemasons
After your design is confirmed, we start the fabrication process at our factory in North Shields. Using advanced CNC saws and polishing machinery, your selected stone is cut and shaped to your exact specifications.
Our experienced stonemasons then finish each piece by hand, checking for quality and consistency. Every worktop goes through a thorough inspection before it leaves our workshop.
4. Fast, professional installation
Your new worktops are typically installed within 7 to 10 working days from the date of templating. We never outsource our installations. All fitting is carried out by our own qualified team, ensuring a clean, professional finish and complete accountability.
Most installations are completed in just one day, so you can get back to using your kitchen without unnecessary delays.
